Philly: 12/16/05

sooo cooold!
heard it's warmer in NYC right now.
good news: I have at least a temp job, possibly full time.
bad news: still need a bed.
but overall, I feel really comfortable in this city. just keep hoping it'll work out long term...

Philly: 12/13

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
excuse me while I chow down on my cheesesteak,
in the meantime, meet the newest resident of North Philly!

I am now residing in a house with one other girl and a bunch of random 'Dudes on the Couches'. I have job interviews set up (more as that develops) and miss my bike desperately. come visit!

oh yeah... does anyone have an extra bed?

New York: the return

arrived in NYC yesterday afternoon. felt ok after a shower and some much needed food and rest. now, I'm even more sore and desperate to keep going.

trying to set up a room to rent in Philly so I can be in action again as soon as possible. just last night, laying in bed, I felt so static. so sad. well I will not stop the adventures. nor the updates. as long as I'm still going somewhere, so will this lonely narrative.

by the way, anyone who wants to see me while I'm in NYC area should call. I'm a little spazzed out with getting my life together again.

Glenwood Springs: day 2

ugh! altitude
did a 3 mile hike up to hanging lake or something. sooo gorgeous - all snow everywhere and there were even small fish in the lake! you could see everything in it cause it was so clear. amazing. but tough! started to get a bit dizzy on the way up. wonder how snowboarding would be?
going to check out the hot springs and vapor caves later today. this place is so gorgeous, but I don't think I could stand it unless I was comfortable with snowboarding. only way to find out is to try!

and speaking of, managed to try surfing in Pacifica, just south of SF. sooo cooold! about 50 degrees in the water. I really needed a hoodie to go with my wetsuit. hardly lasted an hour in spurts. but I did it! the waves were so different than Waikiki, but still really nice and manageable. I just couldn't take the cold - totally zapped all my strength.

best part of the trip so far: seeing so many different and cool places with so much neat stuff to do.
worst part of the trip so far: being bored and restless when I get back to the east coast.
*sigh*

and can't forget to say much thanks to Mark & Family for putting me up!
